In denial about coat-carrying season

Coat-carrying season happens twice a year around here. It's when the temperature is too low in the morning to get away with a light coat, but too warm in the afternoon to wear anything heavier than a hoodie or windbreaker. As a result, I have to carry my coat in the afternoon, and there's a small but nonzero chance I'll forget it at work. Since picking up a heavy hoodie a couple years ago I've been able to whittle down coat-carrying season a bit, since it's good down to about 40F (5C) and can be crammed in my backpack if the afternoon temperatures get unseasonably warm, but today it was just too cold. If it doesn't warm up a bit tomorrow morning, I'll have to officially start coat-carrying season....

I haaaaate that time of year. Also, when it's too cold to go without a jacket/coat, but you quickly get overheated when you wear one. Plus, it's too chilly for a jacket, but not cold enough for a heavy coat. Blargh.

Great is my angst about cool weather.

At least I have a good range of coats now, so I can usually find one that's the right weight for any given temperature. It just may not be right later in the day.

Today I started wearing long underwear. :(
