Anyone know what this plant is?

I got it at Target over the summer in a little grow kit, but I foolishly threw away the packaging and don't remember what species it is. This is the vine from the other day, BTW.

No idea, and a Google search isn't at all helpful.

Yeah, and all the flower identifiers I could find were for wildflowers...this may be a domesticated breed.

I'm not sure. I thought at first it was a morning glory but the petals aren't right. I'm trying to get a second opinion from a botanist friend of mine.

I got a reply...here, let me paste it so I don't screw up the spelling...

>>I've seen that flower before. I think we collected it once upon a time for plant systematics lab.

>>I think it's something called a black eyed susan vine, Thunbergia alata, in Acanthaceae. The first time I saw it referred to that on a site, I thought somebody had gotten their labels mixed up with the more traditional black eyed susan. Guess not. ^_^;;

Hm, could be. Black-Eyed Susan actually applies to three or four different species, as I found a while back when we had an outbreak of one of the types in the area.

ETA: Wikied the Acanthaceae, and that's what I've got. Thanks!

If you say so, I'm more of an animal person, hence why I passed the question.
