Yay, another publication!

We are pleased to inform you that your manuscript "Gender Effects of Computer Use in a Conceptual Physics Lab Course" has been accepted for publication in The Physics Teacher. It will appear in a future issue, most likely in spring of 2010.

Woot! That's two this year! (The first was a lab exercise based on the phonebook-pull segment of Mythbusters.)

Congratulations! Does this refer to the differences in how males and females use the computer, or the effects of variations in use by different genders impacting the computer in some way? I don't quite get the title.

Basically, the executive summary is that males and females had markedly different backgrounds in using tablet PCs and various pieces of software that we had installed, but that there was no difference in how much they felt they'd learned. (It was a course where most of the grade was group participation, so looking at letter grades was pretty meaningless. And we were more interested in their attitudes anyway.)
