The khyron at the opening of the main action for the new G.I.Joe movie says, "The not too distant future" as the date.

They did not follow it with "Next Sunday, A.D." however.

(By the way, I think you'll find that's "Chyron (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chyron_Corporation)"; Khyron was a Zentraedi warlord. :)
