Rocketmen!

WizKids has apparently ditched its plans to do a Lord of the Rings Constructible Strategy Game (CSG) as their second plastic card model game. Instead, they're doing a new property clearly aimed at the sort of people who bought Crimson Skies, a pulp SF rocketship game, woot!

It must be mine!

Is it just me, or do those characters have a very The Batman/Jackie Chan Adventures feel to them? I wouldn't be too surprised to find Duane Capizzi or Thomas Perkins' name involved in this somewhere...

Perhaps, I'd guess they're going with an existing studio for the cartoon, rather than trying to do it in house.

Nice Buck Rogers feel to what we can see of the setting. Evil Earth government using Martians as muscle, opposed by Terran rebels who are helped by Venusian and Mercutian allies.

("The Terrans...are using Martians...as muscle!" "Illinois Venusians." "I hate Illinois Venusians.")

Awesome. I have bought some of the Pirates stuff, because they are neat. Unfortunately I have no one around to really play.

I will definitely be picking these up.

PS. At first I thought you were talking about Freaky Fliers instead of Crimson Skies... A CCG with Traci Torpedoes as a main character? hehe.

Also, I think that is just the generic American Anime style. Not generic as in bad, mind you...
