Lego Squid Launchers!

The local Wal-Mart just got in a bunch of new Lego stuff, including some toys for the aquatic-themed Bionicle set. While the new villagers just shoot the old Zamor spheres, the Barraki (underwater Piraka, I guess) shoot SQUIDS. And you can buy a little box of ten spare squids for two bucks.

Also nifty is that in addition to the boring humanoid villagers, there's also quadruped villagers in two colors, so I snagged one of them. And a Lego Clone Troopers troop-builder set (four troopers and a scout speeder for ten bucks). And some new Power Rangers miniature combiners. I think I dropped fifty bucks on toys on what was planned to just be my "last grocery run before the last minute shoppers make it insane at Wal-Mart" trip....

And there was one box left at the store....

Lego clones! Wow, I could actually start that Lego Chess set.

It has two plain, one yellow-stripe, and one red-accented officer. There's also a set with four regular Separatist Droids and three Super-Droids on a couple of little vehicles.

Squid addict.

More of an enabler. I didn't actually buy one of those ten-packs of squids, after all. But I think [livejournal.com profile] zamiel might be interested. :)

Had not heard of these previously, now I want all of them!

There's six Barraki, themed after manta, octopus, squid, electric eel, crab, and one other I'm having trouble sussing (silver color, named Pridak). The names of the little guys aren't all listed on the box, and they're pretty random-crap names that didn't stick in memory, but the sea scorpion thing I got is named Thulox.

I picked up Kalmah today, and he's pretty damn sweet. I couldn't decide between the green eel guy and the yellow crabish guy, so I only got the one, though they had all of them. No squid ammo packs, sadly.

As for Pridak, He looks vaguely sharkish, but that beak looks more like a parrotfish or triggerfish. So who knows. I'll probably not grab the whole, but I'll pick up a second figure when I can decide between the yellow and green ones, and I'll definitely be nabbing an ammo pack when I find one.

Just checked out the bio on the Lego Store website, Pridak is a shark.

Yeah, the Lego clone pack looked interesting, although I'd prefer a stormtrooper pack. (And a rebel soldier pack too. A prequel jedi pack would be ace as well.) Will, my six-year-old, will be all over these once he sees them, though.

I'm happy to see they finally decided to make proper blasters and don't need to use reversed bullhorns anymore, though.
