To be fair, mainstream has accepted sci fi nerds more in recent years, and I do see sports extremists like fantasy league guys gets blasted by their own people as "jock sniffing stat nerds" on ESPN and the like.
The rant is about, oh, five years late, IMO.

However, I wouldn't doubt that somewhere, far from where you are, a drag queen is considering whether or not to 'recreate' her.

I get more drunk when I am at a freaking convention than a baseball game.
They prevent me from bringing a flask of my own alcohol into a baseball game... ;D
