The Golden Ant-Venger step 1

I'm painting that garden statuary ant in Iron Man colors. The first step was to spraypaint it all gold and then repaint the eyes, to evoke the original Golden Avenger version of Iron Man.

Next up is to paint on red parts.

I know it's an "Iron Ant", but 'twould also be funny (and geekier) to paint on an Ant-man costume & helmet...

Well, I almost bought an Ant-Man (Scott Lang) figure today to ride it. It's about the right scale.

Ooooooh. Shiny.

So, right now, it's the "Original Iron Ant".

Well, the original was dull gray. This is the original Golden Avenger Iron Man ant. :)

Right, I forgot that when he was a prisoner in Viet Nam, and made the armor to escape, that he did it in grey. It wasn't rust-proofed until he got back to the States.

It was a publicity thing. Iron Man was having a bad impression in the press, so decided that painting the armor gold would improve his image. And it did. :)
