Minor car note

Today I was driving behind a Mazda 3 wagon for a few blocks, and it didn't block my view of the road like SUVs do. Another point in its favor (one reason I'm not considering SUVs or vans is that I don't want to be doing the sort of things that piss me off when I drive, such as blocking all useful view of the road ahead).

I am awaiting my amazon order...but I think that is USPS.

Their new phone system is worse than useless. It's no longer possible to actually contact the local office and determine if the phonebank person is misinformed (i.e. the local place has always been open late and let you pick stuff up the same day if they missed you, but I was told today that they've always closed at 6 and I have to go get my package tomorrow, since they can't tell the driver to just leave the package despite it not requiring a signature and...SIGH).

FedEx is already utterly useless in this town for people who can't stay home all day, and it looks like UPS is turning so as well. Gonna have to go against department policy and start having packages sent to my office if I can't get a store to ship USPS.
