When I was in high school ('90-94), I developed an addiction to caffeine, and would get really bad headaches if I went too long without Pepsi.
Around '99 I decided I wanted to take better care of myself, and one of the changes I decided to make was to end my addiction. Somehow I managed to wean myself off of Pepsi in a relatively short space of time. Now I drink Sprite instead (only from the can or bottle, though, since Sprite or 7-Up tastes horrible in every fast-food restaurant near me).
On rare occasions I'll take a sip of Coke or Pepsi, then instantly regret it, because I can't tolerate the flavor anymore. It's just disgusting to me now.
Eventually I'd like to wean myself off of Sprite and stick to just water/milk/juice (because I now believe high fructose corn syrup is one of the least-healthy things to ingest), but that will be a difficult transition.
