Ganking with mods from [livejournal.com profile] derumi.

The first three people to ask for 'em gets sketches of any character. You may want to provide references if you're not sure I know the character, and if I've already drawn a finished version of the character you may want to pick someone else. If you wish to continue the meme, post this italicized bit in your own LJ.

1. Go to this page and click on the link for the month of your birthday. Scroll down to the relevant day.

2. Post to your LJ what holiday or holidays are observed on your birthday. If there's more than one, pick a favorite.

July 18 is slim pickings...just National Crysanthemum Day, which may even be an apocryphal holiday.

(Inspired by a certain webcartoonist having her birthday on National Speak Like A Pirate Day.)

Inspired by [livejournal.com profile] gamera_spinning's link to an EW Article about the comics that got various creators hooked, I figured I'd try to start a little LJ meme.

What was the first comic you can remember reading, or the first to make enough of an impression on you that you do remember reading it, assuming that you were reading comics as a wee little kiddie? Bonus if you can find the cover on CoverBrowser or some similar site and link it in.

Mine was Captain America #200, I think. )

1) Choose a few of your own characters (before looking at the questions).
2) Have them answer the questions.
3) If you decide to propagate this, feel free to change the questions.

How smart are you?
Am-I-Dumb.com - Dumb Test

I am amused that in the two hours since I took the test and decided to post this graphic, enough other people got perfect scores that my percentile dropped frm 99.9 to 99.8 (strictly speaking, from 99.87 to 99.84-something-that-rounded-to-99.85).

Edit: Oh, and it's possible your stupidity will affect your ability to understand this post.

Comment in my journal and I will...

  1. Tell you why I friended you. Assuming I can remember :)
  2. Associate you with something. A fandom, a song, a color, a piece of fruit. SOMETHING.
  3. Tell you something I like about you.
  4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
  5. Associate you with a character/pairing.
  6. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you. (Or else I'll just ask a random question)
  7. List a physics concept that seems to fit with you.

I have mutated the bleme so it is no longer as infectious...you may participate here without having to pass it on. Here at DVD Pseudoscience, we absorb the guilt so you don't have to!

Update: Closing the new entries...this is by far the longest thread I've had on here, and I'm having trouble keeping track. ;) Feel free to keep discussing, I'm just not going to run the list on anyone else.

Snurched from [livejournal.com profile] not_croaker. Go to Music Outfitters (assuming they're not being slashdotted to death by this bleme) and type in your year of birth in the search window. One of the results should be the top 100 songs of that year. C&P the list into your LJ. Bold the ones you like. And as an extra treat to expand the bleme, put an asterisk next to any you're CERTAIN you have heard, but don't like. "Like" in this context means "wouldn't leap to change the channel if it came on."

Oh, and if you're on my flist, please put the songs behind a cut. :)

Top 100 of 1970! )

Odd to see so many groups I think of as 60s groups having hits in 1970. I've probably heard a few more of these songs, but don't connect them to the titles.
